Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 18, 2025

Fair Pardons is currently a personal advocacy project, not a formal organisation. We are transparent about what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used. We do not sell your data. We do not share it beyond what is described in this policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to the website fairpardons.org and describes how information about visitors is collected and used. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways: automatically through analytics, and directly when you choose to contact us via the contact form.

We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information simply to browse the site.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects information such as:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • General geographic region (country or city level)
  • Device type, operating system, and browser
  • How you arrived at the site (e.g. search engine, direct link)

Google Analytics uses cookies to track sessions. In GA4, IP addresses are anonymised by default — we do not receive or store full IP addresses. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics alone.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on , or by using a browser with built-in tracking protection. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings.

We may add additional analytics or measurement tools in the future, in which case this policy will be updated to reflect those changes.

Contact Form Data

When you use the contact form on this site, we receive the information you voluntarily provide: your name, email address, subject, and message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry.

We retain contact form submissions only as long as necessary to address your message and will not use your contact details to send you unsolicited communications.

How We Use Information

Information collected on this site is used for the following purposes only:

  • To understand how the site is used and improve its content and performance
  • To respond to messages sent through the contact form
  • To diagnose technical issues

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

The only third-party service with access to site usage data is Google Analytics, as described above. Google operates under its own Privacy Policy .

We may be required to disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights or safety of this site's operator or others. We will notify you of such disclosures where legally permitted to do so.

Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us and we will respond promptly.

You can also manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect some site functionality.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, which encrypts data in transit between your browser and our servers. We take reasonable steps to protect any information you provide, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of information you send to us.

Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the site evolves or as legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
